Armaan’s surprise proposal
The episode begins with Avila admitting that she broke the bench on which Armaan had lovingly written her name. Armaan appears with a new name tag and Avila smiles. He says, “You came to me as a responsibility, then became my need and now you are my life. With you, I have everything. Will you be my wife? Will you marry me?” She hugs him and replies, “Are you just thinking? I thought your proposal was great but you were better than me.”
He replies, “Stop trying to grade our proposals and just give us an answer.” She teases, “I see you don’t know my answer. Yes.” He clarifies, “So you’re going to marry me tomorrow without the consent and blessings of the elders?” She drops her name tag, saying, “You know I want to marry you, but…” He interrupts, “You can just say yes or no.” She says, “Yes.”
Secret wedding planning
He attaches a name board on the bench and declares, “Tomorrow I will get married and have my own house.” She asks, “Am I going to leave my family?” He replies, “You said you love me, so trust my decision.” She tries to explain but he insists, “Dadi will never accept you. I don’t want to see you humiliated. I love you.” She says, “I love you more. Try to understand. We should take this step.” Ruhi eavesdrops on their conversation.
Armaan says, “I will wait for you tomorrow at Radha Krishna temple.” Ruhi returns home and declares, “I will tell Dadisa everything.” Manisha stops her. Ruhi insists, “I have to talk to Dadi.” Manisha asks, “Is it important?” Ruhi replies, “It’s a private matter, I can’t tell you.” Manisha says, “I’m sleepy. Mamatha had a headache, she took medicine and went to sleep. Don’t wake her up. Behave and I’ll tell you in the morning.” Ruhi leaves.
Preparation and questions
Armaan packs his bags. Avila calls. He says, “I know what you want to discuss. I will not change my decision.” She calls again and says, “I know you are my family and I am your family. But I can’t forget your family.” The box falls, she finds the keychain, takes a picture of it, sends it to him and texts him, “I want love and a family.” He replies, “Maybe family isn’t in your destiny. Let us make a new one.” He calls the agent and asks, “Have you found a house? Send me the details and pictures.”
“My wife and I will switch tomorrow.” Vidya approaches Abira with the dress and says, “This one is for you.” Abira wonders if Vidya knows about Armaan’s plan. Vidya continues. “Today is a special day for you and Armaan. It’s your first teej. Is there anything else?” Abira replies. “No, just the teej,” Vidya says. “Fast and pray for him,” Abira asks. “Does Dadi agree?” Vidya walks away. Abira thinks deeply. “You failed to convince Dadi. Is Armaan right?”
Morning Ritual and Hidden Plans
Armaan writes her name next to his and says, “I am ready to share my life with you”. Abira thinks, “I am ready to wait for Dadi’s consent”. Ruhi comes and argues with Abira. Abira tells her to go out and help someone else. Ruhi leaves. The next morning, Rohi wakes up and asks Ruhi, “Are you applying chuna (slaked lime)?” Ruhi replies, “Yes, it will darken the colour of the mehendi”. He asks, “Do you want to strengthen our relationship?” She says, “I was in your house, applied mehendi with your name and fasted for you. Need I say more?” He smiles and leaves. She thinks, “I have to talk to Dadi”.
Unexpected discovery
Manish and Surekha reach the Poddar house. He seems annoyed. Ruhi and everyone welcome them. A man approaches and says, “I want to meet Armaan and give him these keys.” Ruhi says, “Yes I will.” He explains, “These are the keys to his new house. He said that he will move there if he gets married today.” She replies, “Yes I will, thank you.” She thinks, “Are you and Armaan getting married and moving out of this house? No, I can’t let that happen. I have to talk to Dadi.”
