Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are one step closer to regaining their freedom.

President Donald Trump revealed his plans May 27 to pardon the couple, currently serving prison sentences for tax evasion and bank fraud. The case was brought to the president by criminal justice reform advocate Alice Johnson, a White House official told E! News.

In a phone call with their kids Savannah Chrisley and Grayson Chrisley, shared to X, Trump said, “Your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow. Is that OK? We’ll try getting it done tomorrow.”

After receiving the news, Grayson, 19, became emotional as he expressed his gratitude for the move.

“Mr. President,” he said, “I just want to say thank you for bringing my parents back.”

E! News has reached out to the Chrisley family for comment but has not heard back.

After pleading not guilty to their charges, Todd and Julie were convicted on all counts in June 2022. Prior to the pardon, Todd was set for release on April 7, 2032, while Julie was due to remain behind bars until January 8, 2028, according to inmate records viewed by E! News.
