MANILA, Philippines — San Miguel Beer guard Terrence Romeo has been a veteran of the league for quite some time, and he showed why Friday in Game 2 of the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals against Ginebra.
When the Beermen needed him most, Romeo answered the call, scoring numerous points in the fourth quarter and overtime to get the series against the Gin Kings back to square one, game to game.

“We just have to be ready for that moment,” Romeo said in Filipino after his team beat Ginebra 131-125 in overtime at Araneta Coliseum.

“I know how you feel when you’re in the playoffs or the semifinals. My effort for this game hasn’t changed and my confidence hasn’t wavered in moments like that.”

Romeo was at his best for Far East University, recording 26 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench.
The former TNT swingman literally saved his best for last, scoring 13 points in the fourth quarter and nine points in the overtime period to keep Ginebra at bay and tie the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
Coach Jorge Gallento certainly didn’t miss Romeo’s effort, saying he was also a role model for the other players on the bench in terms of “keep preparing” until his name was called.

“He’s always ready for that tournament. He showed the players that when his name is called, he’s going to deliver, and that’s what he’s done now. [I’m] I’m very happy he played well,” Gallent said of Romeo.
