When it comes to horror movies, it can sometimes feel like they’re doing a weird Mad Libs, where the titles and themes of the movies are made up of random words and games. Spin the Bottlea new horror movie, but it seems he came up with the title first and worked out the rest of the script much later.
Spin the Bottle It’s packed with classic horror tropes, ready to be put to “good” use: A group of teenagers go to a (supposedly) haunted house and indulge in all sorts of teenage debauchery. They play, you guessed it, spin the bottle, which is a lot of fun until someone dies or goes missing.

Was that expected? Well, we were too. Couldn’t keep a straight face at any point during this corny mess? We were too. This is a horror movie that’s very light on any kind of story and just wants to make the bones of horror with enough jump scares to keep you intrigued.
Oh, and it doesn’t help that the “teenagers” all appear to be in their mid-twenties and are super attractive, which is another thing we’re used to seeing in horror movies.
Spin the Bottle A bunch of Texas teenagers are playing a game in their house, someone gets killed, and now one of the other kids becomes a suspect. Why? Because it seems like his family has done a lot of bad stuff in the past, and the cop (Justin Long) thinks it’s all connected. Is it really? Who cares? Watch as everyone runs around in fear for 90 minutes.
With horror movies like this, it can sometimes be hard to know whether the filmmakers and/or screenwriters (in this case Gavin Wiesen and John Creegan) were taking the assignment seriously, or if they were just joking a bit with the plot devices, the script, etc. I’m leaning towards the idea that they were getting the joke, but it’s not entirely clear.
That being said, we’ve seen films that are much thinner than this one. Spin the Bottle Sometimes, especially if it has a horror vibe to it, it develops into a major film franchise, like Stranger Things did.
After all, we got an entire franchise out of kids who escaped death but who later end up mostly dead. final destination, Anyone?
by the way final destination, Ali Larter stars in the film Spin the Bottle The cast includes Tanner Stein, Kaylee Kaneshiro, Emily Skinner, Hal Cumpston and other relatively new faces.
Spin the Bottle It’s set for a digital release on October 4th, giving fans about a month to dazzle until Halloween — if they can stop laughing first, that is.
