Recluse, Wyoming (Celebrity Access) – Three members of a Georgia-based family gospel group Nelons Two aerial photographs dated Nov. 25, 2005, show a plane crash in Wyoming on Friday (July 26) that killed four people, including the pilot. Four people, including the pilot, were also killed in the tragedy.
Kelly Nelon Clarkher husband Jason Clarke and her daughter Amber Neron Kistler The passengers and crew were en route to Alaska on the Geyser Homecoming cruise when the crash occurred, according to a statement from Geyser Management Group on Saturday, July 27. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported that the crash occurred near the town of Recluse in northeastern Wyoming.
Kelly and Jason’s other daughter, Autumn Nelon Streetmanwas not on the plane. She “Prayers are already being sent out to me, my husband, Jamie, our soon-to-be son, and Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark.” Streetman added: “We thank you all for your continued prayers, love and support as we get through the days ahead.”
The group’s final Instagram post was on Friday (July 26), documenting their pit stop in Nebraska. Jason said: “Geyser Homecoming Alaskan Cruise. We’re departing.” While showing it to the rest of the group.
Amber’s husband was also killed in the accident. Nathan Kistler, Melody Hodges, Assistant, Pilot Larry Haney and his wife, Melissa.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The NTSB said preliminary information showed the single-engine turboprop Pilatus PC-12/47E aircraft was “An autopilot issue was reported during the flight that affected the terrain.” The investigation is still in its early stages and investigation teams have been dispatched to the crash site to begin examining the aircraft.
Haney was commissioner of the Georgia Department of Corrections. According to the department, Haney and his wife “Devoted to each other, to our grandchildren and to our families.” and “a passionate supporter of the GDC family.” Governor Brian Kemp He expressed his sorrow for the dead, “Larry’s impact on our state as chairman of the Georgia Department of Corrections Board and throughout his valued career of service in public safety will never be forgotten.” Kemp asked for prayers for the families and communities affected by the accident.
The Nelons have recorded more than 35 albums and have had more than 20 Southern Gospel radio singles reach the top five, including “Thanks,” “Come Morning,” “We Shall Wear a Robe and Crown” and “O for a Thousand Tongues.” In 2016, they were inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
Throughout their career, the four-piece group has received a Grammy nomination for Best Southern Gospel Album in 1991 and 35 GMA Dove Award nominations, most recently winning the Dove Award for Best Country/Bluegrass/Roots Recording of the Year in 2021 for “If God Pulled Back the Curtain.”
