The documents obtained by TMZ don’t list a cause of Richard’s death, instead stating that the circumstances are still under investigation, which explains why a cause of death has yet to be reported.
But it appears the fitness guru (listed on his certificate as a “health motivator”) has already been buried a week after his death: Doctors say Richard was buried here in Los Angeles at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
The death certificate also details Richard’s personal life, which is interesting because the TV personality lived a fairly reclusive life in his later years, and in particular, it states that Richard was single at the time of his death and had never been married.
Keep in mind, Richard never publicly spoke about his sexuality, even though many saw him as a queer icon.
TMZ reports that Richard was found unconscious by his housekeeper at his Los Angeles home on Saturday morning, the day after his 76th birthday. Paramedics were called to the scene, but Sadly, he was pronounced dead..
Police are investigating Richard’s cause of death, but law enforcement sources say they believe it was a natural death.
As TMZ previously reported, the night before his death, Richard felt dizzy and fell in his bathroom, and his housekeeper reportedly urged him to go to the doctor, but he refused because he was celebrating his birthday.
