But this guy, I went on the show and he was like, “Is that your real hair?” And I said, “Yeah,” and he was like, “Do you mind if I mess it up?” And I was like, “No, I’d rather not.” Remember? I said, honestly, I’d rather it not be messed up. But if you have to, you know? So he grabbed his hair and started acting so funny, you know? Everybody laughed. And it was a big hit. It was talked about everywhere, the ratings were great. And then six months later, he left the show under pressure to apologize for dehumanizing Donald Trump..

Johnny Carson passed away in 2005. Even if NBC wanted to bring Johnny Carson back, I don’t think zombie Johnny would be a good fit as a late-night show host.
Comments like this raise the question of whether Trump even knows what year it is, or whether he’s stuck in the 1980s and desperate to take the country back there.
Everything about Trump is purposefully reminiscent of the ’80s. He plagiarized as much of the Reagan administration’s presentation as he could, right down to Lee Greenwood’s lame song “Proud To Be An American.” Trump is a nostalgic figure, obsessed with the past.
Trump doesn’t seem to be completely at peace mentally. And his call for the late Johnny Carson to return was another moment that demonstrated the former president is mentally unfit to serve as president.
