A source familiar with the situation tells TMZ … Nelly initially thought the arrest was a joke or prank because he was in the middle of collecting his bounty when a background check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant.
Nelly was reportedly first handcuffed to a chair, leaving one hand free to collect the remaining cash.
After collecting all the money, the officers reportedly handcuffed Nelly’s wrists and led him away from the casino.

The rapper claims he previously won much more money at the same casino without undergoing a background check. During the background check, it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a previous traffic violation, and the arresting officers searched his belongings and allegedly found ecstasy.
Nelly’s lawyers say prosecutors have yet to charge the rapper with drug possession, and Nelly claims he was searched without probable cause and is calling for an investigation of the arresting officers.
