Washington DC – Today, MoveOn unveiled a series of digital billboards in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida highlighting Donald Trump’s decision to cut $155 million from disaster relief funds during his presidential term. As early voting begins and these states recover from recent devastating hurricanes, the billboards serve as a stark reminder of President Trump’s priorities and how his policies are negatively impacting local communities. Fulfilling.
The sign reads, “Donald Trump sold us out when he cut disaster relief by $155 million as president.” The campaign aims to combat disinformation surrounding emergency funds and remind voters heading to the polls of President Trump’s mishandling.
Billboards will be up in the following states this week through Election Day, November 5th.
- north carolina: Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte area
- georgia: Savannah coastal city
- florida: West Palm Beach, near Mar-a-Lago
“Donald Trump doesn’t care about protecting our lives, our homes, our communities. He only cares about himself.” MoveOn spokesperson Britt Jakovich. “The cuts to disaster relief funds during his tenure have left countless communities vulnerable and millions of Americans are now facing the consequences. We stand behind his disinformation and the loss of lives. I’m not going to let the disrespect go unchecked.”
