Trump is furious, he’s complaining, and he’s trying to downplay the huge crowds that have turned out for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.
Trump posted on Truth Social:
If 1,000 people show up to a Kamala rally, the media “buzzes” and talks about how “massive” the rally was. And she pays for the “crowd.” If I hold a rally and 100,000 people show up, the Fake News doesn’t cover it. They refuse to mention the size of the crowd. The Fake News is the enemy of the people!
The truth is, some of the crowds at Trump rallies aren’t locals. Trump has legions of supporters who follow him around the country like an anti-democratic jam band and come to all his shows. Some of them make money from the shows selling Trump merchandise. Many others are Trump’s most ardent fans.
The biggest talking point about Trump’s 2024 rallies is the lack of energy. These rallies are decidedly not of 2016. Crowds are being pounded to bits by Trump’s insistence on arriving at most events at least an hour late and then rambling for at least 90 minutes. It’s becoming increasingly common for Trump’s supporters to abandon him the longer he speaks.

This is real momentum, the kind of energy Trump has never faced before. Donald Trump has barely campaigned. Harris and Waltz did more events yesterday than Trump has done this week.
