A HarperCollins spokesperson told The Associated Press that more than 650,000 copies have been sold since Trump’s July 15 announcement, a total that includes print books, audiobooks and e-books.
“Hundreds of thousands of copies are being printed to meet retail demand,” the publisher said in a statement Thursday.
Vance’s book had already sold more than 3 million copies before Trump nominated him for the Republican nomination. Ron Howard’s 2020 film “Hillbilly Elegy” chronicled Vance’s childhood in Ohio and his family’s roots in rural Kentucky.
