How to Deep Clean a Mattress

Then spray the stain, let the mixture soak in for about 10 minutes, and wipe the stain with a cool, damp towel. It’s a good idea to use a white towel if you have one, to prevent color transfer. After removing the stains, sprinkle baking soda all over the mattress. This will eliminate the unpleasant odors that come from the bed, such as accumulated sweat and body oils. Leave it for 24 hours To get a thorough clean, you’ll probably need to sleep on the couch or in the guest room overnight.
Let the baking soda sit for about 24 hours, then vacuum your mattress again. Your mattress should now be clean. You can add a finishing touch if you like. Give it a light spritz with Febreze or a mix of essential oils and water. Be careful not to get your mattress soaking wet.

How to keep your mattress clean
Once you’ve given your mattress a thorough clean, protect it until you clean it again in six months. Start by investing in a good quality mattress cover or pad and washing it regularly (about once a month). Also, wash your sheets at least once every two weeks, or more often if you sweat a lot while sleeping.
