McLaren took a one-two finish in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix, with F1 driver Oscar Piastri taking pole position and ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri, while championship leader Max Verstappen could only manage seventh place.
Norris did enough two laps to secure pole position in Q3, beating Piastri by 0.1 seconds as Russell was unable to prevent McLaren monopolizing the front row.
Verstappen struggled in Q3, with his car clearly struggling for grip, and will compete in Sunday’s race at Monza. Live coverage on Sky Sports F1 at 2pm – Dropped to 7th place.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished fourth and fifth at the team’s home event, with Lewis Hamilton sixth.
