Rural Hybrid Care Providers Homeward has announced that Dr. Greg Burrell, a practicing internal medicine physician, has been appointed its first chief medical officer.
Burrell will oversee quality assurance and the company’s clinical and navigation strategy across markets, working to improve member experience and support the health system.
He previously served as chief medical officer for an employer health benefits company. Gravie previously served as vice president of clinical solutions and deputy CMO at virtual healthcare company Accolade.
Burrell is also co-founder of Virtual Primary Care and Urgent Care Provider. At Carbon Health, he served as vice president of clinical strategy and products and primary care medical director.
“Today marks a pivotal moment in our efforts to reimagine health care and care delivery in rural America as we welcome Dr. Burrell as Homeward’s first chief medical officer,” Dr. Jennifer Schneider, co-founder and CEO of Homeward, said in a statement.
“Dr. Burrell’s clinical acumen, experience building innovative clinical products and commitment to patient experience and quality of care will be invaluable as we continue to grow and expand to meet the healthcare needs of rural America.”
New York-based mental health platform Headway has hired Susan Chan as chief information security officer.
Qian was previously Chief Security Officer at cloud cybersecurity and website services company Cloudflare, and previously served on the security leadership team at Uber, worked in technology and healthcare consulting at Deloitte, and has experience in security and strategy at Salesforce.
She will oversee Headway’s engineering, IT, data privacy and security.
