I attempted to visit the prison in Washington DC to see the conditions in which J6 political prisoners are being held, but was denied access.
As a member of Congress, I have a duty to provide oversight. This is unacceptable and I will not stop here. pic.twitter.com/kUGqwPJlEg

What are these sick people trying to hide?
Burleson’s attempted visit came on the heels of his participation in yesterday’s hearing with Marjorie Taylor Greene regarding the Biden/Harris Administration’s continued mistreatment of J6 political prisoners.
Watch the full hearing here:
Rep. Josh Breacheen of Oklahoma was able to enter the prison, but Burleson was denied entry.
This is not the first time that officials at the Guantanamo Bay detention center in Washington, D.C., have blocked members of Congress from entering the prison. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and former Rep. Louie Gohmert (D-Texas) were denied entry by the warden when they showed up at the prison’s entrance in November 2021.
Greene was finally able to enter the prison and released a shocking report on the inhumane conditions in DC prisons.
This is an excerpt from Marjorie Taylor Greene’s report. “Extraordinarily brutal” reports from inside DC prisonsRead the full report here.
“The Jan. 6 pretrial prisoners have been held in DC Jail since January 6, 2021. Conditions in DC Jail have been reported to be particularly inhumane; it has been given the names DC Guantanamo and DC Gulag.
After a heated standoff between the Mayor’s representative, Kinlaw, and DOC officials, the deputies and staff were finally able to meet with the January 6 inmates at CTF. Councilmen Green and Gohmert refused to leave until they had inspected the January 6 inmates. Despite the warm welcome from the inmates, the physical conditions in which the inmates are being held can only be described as inhumane.
For example, the cell in the January 6th Wing at CTF was very small and contained a toilet, a sink, and a small bed. The walls of the cell contained human waste, bodily fluids, blood, dirt, and mold residue. The communal showers had recently been cleaned of black mold, but some remained. The interior walls of the common areas were also newly painted.
Inmates said federal marshals had visited the area just a few days earlier, and guards were busy cleaning up the Jan. 6 area while the marshals inspected another area.
The inmates explained that in prison they have no access to lawyers or family, and they lack proper nutrition. Shortly after entering CTF’s January 6th wing, the inmates gathered for their daily salute to the American flag and singing the national anthem. After nearly an hour of individual interviews with the January 6th inmates, all present except DC Jail staff gathered in a circle, with Rep. Greene concluding the group with a prayer. At approximately 10:15 p.m., the congressmen and staff left the facility.
“It is also important that the DC Jail Facility has areas equipped with plexiglass and telephones so that attorneys and clients can meet face-to-face through glass. Use of this facility should not result in 14 days of solitary confinement simply for meeting with an attorney.”
Kudos to Rep. Eric Burlison for taking the time to follow up on the situation several years later. Twitter is hereComment on his post and support our lawmakers who are actually doing their jobs!
