Colin Allred discards Ted Cruz in Texas Senate debate

Democrat Colin Allred laid out why Sen. Ted Cruz is at risk of losing his job during the Texas Senate debate.

Allred said of Cruise and 1/6:

I have to say that I cannot side with the rioters or the police on January 6th. You can’t. And it’s not funny. Because you are a threat to democracy. I was both a senator and a member of the House of Representatives when the vote took place. I remember when you objected to the Arizona results. Those of you at home may remember where you were and what you were doing on January 6th.

I know where I was, I know where he was. I remember being asked to reach under my seat to retrieve my gas mask. They had tear gas deployed in the rotunda, so we didn’t know we were doing it. The police locked all the doors. we closed the door. The President walks through to deliver the State of the Union with the furniture we normally use to put the paper on.

I texted my wife Allie. Allie was seven months pregnant with son Cameron and was at home with son Jordan, who was just two years old. No matter what happens, I love you. I took off my suit jacket and got ready to defend the House chamber from the mob. At the same time, after Sen. Cruz roamed the country lying about the election and became the architect of an attempt to overturn the election, Sen. Cruz was hiding in a supply closet when the mob came.

that’s ok. I don’t want him to get hurt by the mob. Not really. This election is his responsibility. You can’t just be patriotic just because your team won. If, for the first time in 250 years, this project of ours, this joint American project, fails to achieve a peaceful transfer of power, those in charge must be held accountable.

That’s why Liz Cheney is supporting me and joining this campaign to say to Texans around the world, don’t put Ted Cruz back in a position of authority, because we did it once, we’ll do it again. .

Everything Alred said was true. Ted Cruz was working behind the scenes to find a way to use the courts to overturn the election results. The Capitol rioters are seen on video saying they listened to Mr. Cruz’s rhetoric and were doing what Ted Cruz wanted when they invaded the Capitol.

Ted Cruz was involved in an attempt to overthrow the government.

Republicans have warned that Mr. Cruz is in trouble in the state. Sen. Cruz was never popular in Texas, but he continued to win because the state is red. Those days may be coming to an end, as Allred destroyed Cruise in a way never seen in previous campaigns.
