First love! Chris Evans He sat down with ET on National Mat Day, July 31, to explain how his dog, Dodger, influences his health regime and celebrate his partnership with the pooch. Jinx.
Fans Captain America: The First Avenger Star Evans, who is in tune with his action-packed roles, admits he prioritises the nutrition of his rescue puppy over his own.
“If a film I’m doing demands a certain level of fitness, then my diet will follow suit, otherwise it’s junk food,” says the 43-year-old actor.
“[My diet] “It’s probably not as good as what’s in Jinx,” he explains of the dog food, which is packed with high-quality protein, superfoods, probiotics, and immune-boosting vitamins and minerals.
But when it comes to training routines, Evans and his pets are always on the same page.
“Lots of love and lots of exercise. Dodger lives a very active lifestyle…. He’s very cardio-focused. You know, he loves long hikes and rollerblading. And even at 10 years old, he’s still going strong! He keeps waiting for the battery to start to get a little low, but his hikes last over an hour every day,” he points out.
Not just to maintain (literally) ghost Dozier keeps him on his toes as an actor, which also contributes to Evans’ overall well-being.
“My life is exponentially better having Dodger. He’s a very special dog and I don’t think it’s possible for him to be in a bad mood when he’s around,” he says.
“[Adopting him] “It was one of the most moving experiences I’ve ever had. It was incredibly fateful. The moment I saw him I knew immediately that he was going to come home with me. From now on I will only rescue dogs. That’s my new approach going forward,” Evans added.
