Auma Obama She was being interviewed by CNN during a protest in Nairobi, Kenya, on Tuesday when suddenly, she heard an explosion behind her and began coughing and crying.

Auma, the Kenyan activist, told CNN she took part in the protest to show the world what is happening to young Kenyans who are demonstrating for their rights with flags and banners before police fired tear gas at protesters outside parliament.
Widespread protests have erupted in Kenya as citizens react to a controversial new finance bill that includes proposed tax hikes.
Reports from Nairobi said police opened fire on protesters who tried to storm parliament after tear gas and water cannons failed to disperse the crowds, leaving at least five people shot dead and dozens injured.
Barack has yet to speak about what happened to his sister, but we know the two remain close.
