Darius Acuff Jr., rated as a five-star recruit, the No. 1 point guard and the No. 4 overall prospect in the class of 2025 by 247Sports, officially committed to play for coach John Calipari at Arkansas on Friday.
Calipari became the Razorbacks’ first 2025 recruit after signing a five-year contract worth $7 million per season after transferring from Kentucky to Arkansas in April.
Acuff, who announced his decision on YouTube, chose the Razorbacks over Kansas and Michigan. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Detroit native is also a five-star overall recruit according to 247Sports.
Acuff narrowed his list of schools to Arkansas, Kansas, Michigan and Connecticut in late June, eliminating the two-time defending national champions before Friday’s announcement.
“My official visit went well. I have a good relationship with John Calipari,” Akuff told 247Sports. “I visited Kentucky and Arkansas. Nothing was different except the schools. It was a great visit. Coach Calipari is a great guards coach. Most of his guards are in the NBA.”
