One small image of the new silver Mac Mini shows a headphone jack and two front USB-C ports that will likely support at least Thunderbolt 4. Available in base or pro versions of the new M4 chipset with up to 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores, 64GB of memory, and 8TB of storage. The ports on the back remain a mystery for now.
M4 is a significant step up from M2, which powers the current Mac Mini, which was last updated in January 2023. This power increase should help current and future Apple Intelligence processing, jumping from 15.8 TOPS to 38 TOPS. previous report by bloomberg’s Mark Garman.
Garman also points out that the new smaller Mini is closer to the size of the Apple TV streamer. It certainly looks small when placed next to the Mac Studio, but it’s a very attractive Mac in terms of size and power.
Mac Mini is rumored to have official details and pricing later today, so stay tuned.
