The Australian rock band is bringing its synth-heavy rave units to Brooklyn’s Below the Okay Bridge Park, with digital producer .VRIL becoming a member of the invoice.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have added a second “rave present” to their New York run, and this time Brooklyn will get the decision. The prolific rock band will play Below the Okay Bridge Park on August 23 following a sold-out three-day run at Forest Hills Stadium.
The group has spent over a decade mutating from garage-rock scrappers right into a genre-devouring machine, releasing practically 30 albums that swing from thrash steel to neo-psychedelia to orchestral music. These days their gravitational pull has bent towards the dancefloor, with modular synths becoming a member of the guitars onstage and four-on-the-floor beats creeping into the setlists.
Below the Okay Bridge Park, the economic waterfront venue tucked beneath the Kosciuszko Bridge, feels tailored for that shift. Because of DJ units from Tiësto, Chris Lake, The Chainsmokers and lots of extra, it has emerged as a beloved vacation spot for NYC’s digital dance music group, giving the present extra in widespread with a warehouse rave than a rock live performance.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s live performance at Forest Hills the night time prior can also be billed as a “rave present.” Followers eager about attending the rave at Below the Okay Bridge Park ought to set their alarms for an artist pre-sale kicking off Wednesday, July 8 at 12pm ET.
Tickets will then launch to most people Friday, July 10 at 10am ET.
